Water Information

Stapleton water is supplied by Denver County and is naturally hard. This isn't necessarily bad, it just means you need to know how to manage it. Here are some tips for you:

  • Hard water is caused by excessive Calcium and Magnesium in the water. These are minerals found in most vitamins and if anything are contributing to our good health.
  • Where they hurt is in the appearance of our dishes and when they form in excess in our water heaters and pipes.
  • You can help save your water heater by turning it up a few degrees. This will keep the minerals in liquid form and limit the build-up
  • There are two solutions to hard water, a traditional water softener and a "water magnet". The water magnet is essentially a large magnet attached to your main water line that changes the molecular structure of the calcium and magnesium so that they don't solidify. There is some debate as to how well these actually work.
  • In your dishwasher, never do the heated-dry cycle and always be sure to add a rinse-aid. This will prevent your dishes from getting permanent buildup and becoming disgusting.
